Dhulkhel is a small Newari town with old houses and temples. It is 30 km away from from Kathmandu through the Araniko Highway. Dhulikhel is a hill station to see the beutiful snow-peaked Himalaya. Local people always spent thier weekend there to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city.
Namo Buddha is about 40km away from Kathmandu. It is a small village which houses very old Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery which is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal and one of the holiest in the world. It is known as the place where the Buddha, in a previous life as a prince, gave his body to a starving tigress and her cubs.
Panauti is one of the oldest towns in Nepal, consisting of many temples that are still present till this day dating back to the 15th Century or earlier. It has been debated that Panauti was founded by Ananda Malla (1274-1310BC), others believe that there is a golden scripture dated 1385, which is located within the Indreshwar temple stating that King Harisingh Dev founded the town.
